It's Officially Official!

It's official! My supervisor made the announcement to our team yesterday, and my new boss has already started the process of getting my title changed. February is a new month, and I'll be starting a new adventure. Thankfully my Biology paper is due the week before I start. I get to avoid being stressed about this paper while starting a new position.

I went over to meet the team today. It's going to be an adjustment, but I'm going to [try to] stay positive and just be myself. I'm just worried that I've gotten too laid back with my easy job. I'll be spending my next two weeks creating training guides for my old team. I've been feeling really upset with myself for leaving them. I know that it's not my responsibility to carry the team, but I've been doing it for so long... I feel like a mama kicking her kids out of the house.

On top of that, I found out that my application to join Queen Photographers was approved! I'm joining a group of great women who do excellent work, and I'm honored. I'm always my own worst critic when it comes to my photography, so it's nice to know that someone is loving what I do.

January has been an awesome month so far. JJ will be turning 7 on Thursday. Ivy will be turning 4 on Saturday. They deserve to have an amazing life full of extracurricular activities and going places that my parents took me as a child. My goal is to make this a year to remember for all of us.

P.S. I'll be posting about my planners for the year soon. Waiting on one more to come in.

G.O.A.T.

2017 is just beginning, and it's already the G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Times)

I took a week off work to get my personal life in order. I cleared a bunch of things that we no longer use out of the apartment. I'm enjoying not having clutter everywhere. I still have more work to do, but progress is progress.

Last week, I didn't mention that I had a job interview. I was so nervous about it, to a point where I felt sick. Little did I know, it wasn't really an interview, but more of a "this is what you'll be doing, and we hope you will accept the position." Turns out, the manager was the Foursquare Swarm mayor of the building before I politely booted him out of the spot.

Well today, I got the official offer! I will be moving up to IT Operations Analyst! It's entry level, but I'm okay with that. I still have at least two years before I graduate with my Bachelor's, and I'm excited to get the experience that I need. This is what I've been waiting on my entire life, and I couldn't be happier.

On top of that, I was officially inducted into the Honor's Society! I'm ecstatic! For once, I put myself first, and it's like all of my dreams were on the other side of that door.

So here's to 2017!! May it continue to be the G.O.A.T.

New Year, Different Perspective

7:25pm. I'm out of coffee, and I have been sitting at my computer all day.

It's a new year, and I decided to quit the whole new year, new me thing. Truth is... It doesn't work for me. Ever. Instead, I decided to just make moves. Because... Why not?

New Year Goals

This year's goals include:

  • promoting my photography business that has been open since 2014.
  • get back into blogging on a regular basis.
  • keep my grades up, and keep myself motivated about school.
  • take a vacation.
  • adopt a healthier lifestyle.
  • BREATHE.

It's mid-January, and I've already started working towards half of my goals. I've been working out and eating better. I've been completing all of my homework assignments on time. I booked a five-day cruise to the Bahamas for my family. I had my first successful photography session of the year. And, I've launched my first photography promotion.

I also had time to put together websites for J's business and my own. Terin Selena Photography finally has a fully functional website and shop. My Facebook and Instagram pages are active, and I am so relieved!

I'm excited about 2017. I finally realized that no one can make my dreams come true, except me. I have to live for myself, first. Only thing that I'm mad about, is how long it took me to figure this out.

It's going to be a great year!

xo.

I Said I Would...

It's a new year, y'all! I did terrible with blogging last year, I know. I would say that I am going to do better this year, but the way my life is set up...

Since my last update, I have started classes. I currently have a 4.0 GPA, and I've received an invitation to join the Honors Society. This is my third quarter, and I'm taking Biology and Web Development.

Nothing new is going on with work. I feel like I'm at a plateau, and I need to make some changes.

The kids are great. January is birthday month!

I have a few projects lined up for 2017. I'm going to attempt to focus on myself this year. I have so many dreams that I want to fulfill and there isn't anyone holding me back... Except me.

So as always, stay tuned!

006 | Another Life Update

I like life updates! LOL!

So I am going back to school! I registered for classes at Strayer University. I'm excited to finally finish my Bachelor's in Information Technology. I'm going to be focusing on programming.

Kids are great. Out of daycare and afterschool for the summer, and saving me hundreds of dollars.

Work is good. I am a 2016 WOW! Star, which is a huge deal at my company. They also want me to consider moving up, but with school starting, I'm not too sure.

Life is really coming together for me, and I couldn't be happier.

Until next time.
